Amarnath Yatra suspended due to bad weather | India News

SRINAGAR: The Amarnath Yatra was suspended on Friday resulting from unhealthy climate as rain lashed many components of Kashmir, officers mentioned.
The yatra was suspended alongside each the Baltal and the Pahalgam routes, they mentioned.
“The yatra has been suspended and no pilgrim is being allowed to maneuver in direction of the holy cave shrine this morning,” the officers mentioned.

Heavy showers, which began early on Friday, pressured the short-term suspension of the pilgrimage, they added.

The pilgrims have been stopped on the Baltal and the Nunwan base camps.
The yatra will resume as soon as the climate improves, the officers mentioned.

On Thursday, 17,202 pilgrims paid obeisance on the holy cave shrine, taking the cumulative complete of devotees who’ve had ‘darshan’ of the pure ice lingam formation within the south Kashmir Himalayas to 84,768 thus far.
