NEW DELHI: The Bihar meeting on Thursday handed the Reservation Modification Invoice unanimously via a voice vote. The Invoice will elevate the quota for SCs, STs, Different Backward Courses and Extraordinarily Backward Courses to a complete of 65 per cent from the prevailing 50 per cent.
In line with the payments, the quota for STs will probably be doubled, from one to 2 per cent, whereas for SCs it will likely be raised from 16 per cent to twenty per cent.For EBCs, the quota will probably be 25 per cent, up from 18 per cent, whereas for the OBCs, it should rise from 12 per cent to fifteen per cent.
The Caste Survey report had revealed that OBCs (27.13 per cent) and the extraordinarily backward lessons sub-group (36 per cent) account for a whopping 63 per cent of the state’s whole of 13.07 crore, whereas SCs and STs collectively have been barely over 21 per cent.
