NEW DELHI: The seventh stealth frigate beneath the Indian Navy‘s Venture 17 A, Mahendragiri, launched on Friday. Constructed at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL), the vessel was developed as a part of the push in direction of the Aatmnirbhar Bharat concept.
“Mahendragiri a technologically superior warship stands as an emblem of India’s dedication to embrace its wealthy naval heritage, whereas propelling itself in direction of a way forward for indigenous defence capabilities,” Navy stated on X, previously generally known as Twitter.
Mahendragiri, named after a mountain peak in Jap Ghats positioned within the state of Odisha, is the seventh ship of the Venture 17A Frigates.
These warships are follow-ons of the Venture 17 Class Frigates (Shivalik Class), with improved stealth options, superior weapons and sensors, and platform administration methods.
