SC reserves verdict on pleas challenging Electoral Bonds scheme, asks poll panel to give details of all political donations | India News

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Courtroom on Thursday requested the Election Fee to furnish the information of donors and quantum of contribution made by them to political events since 2017-18 until date. What’s the Electoral Bond scheme?
The Electoral Bond scheme, which was notified by the federal government on January 2, 2018, was pitched as an alternative choice to money donations made to political events as a part of efforts to usher in transparency in political funding.
In line with the provisions of the scheme, electoral bonds could also be bought by any citizen of India or entity included or established in India. A person should purchase electoral bonds, both singly or collectively with different people.
