Up to now, liquor price Rs 27 crore and narcotics valued at Rs 2.7 crore have been seized by excise officers.
Most seizures have been in districts bordering neighbouring states. The best seizure was in Suryapet (Rs 2.5 crore), adopted by Medchal (Rs 2.3 crore), Khammam (Rs 1.5 crore), Malkajgiri (Rs 1.4 crore), Mahabubabad (Rs 1.3 crore). Together with these, Hyderabad, Warangal, Saroornagar, Kamareddy and Nirmal made up the highest 10 districts.
Qureshi mentioned, “Medication and liquor coming from Goa through land must cross total Karnataka. Within the final month, Karnataka has seized three vans of non-duty paid liquor from Goa to Telangana which have been destined for AP, notably Guntur, Krishna, East and West Godavari districts. Consignments from Goa through Karnataka to north and south Andhra transfer by way of Telangana, whereas contraband to Rayalaseema don’t contact Telangana.”
