Blizzards kill 8, leave 1 missing in central Mongolia – Xinhua

BEIJING: Blizzards sweeping by way of central Mongolia since final Friday have killed eight and left one lacking, China’s official Xinhua information company reported on Monday, citing Mongolian emergency administration authorities.
Rescuers have been looking for 46 folks after blizzards hit a number of Mongolian provinces, Xinhua stated, including 37 of these lacking have been discovered.
The toughest-hit areas in central Mongolia have been blanketed by snow as much as 34 cm (13.4 inches) thick, Xinhua stated, citing Mongolia’s Nationwide Company for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring.
Blizzards are anticipated to proceed within the coming week in most components of Mongolia, together with the capital Ulaanbaatar, the information company stated, as native herdsmen, building staff and drivers have been urged to take further precautions towards attainable disasters.
