UN chief says false to accuse him of ‘justifying’ Hamas attacks

WASHINGTON: United Nations Secretary-Common Antonio Guterres on Wednesday rejected accusations that he had justified Hamas assaults on Israel in his assertion to the Safety Council on Tuesday.
“I’m shocked by the misrepresentations by a few of my assertion … as if I used to be justifying acts of terror by Hamas. That is false. It was the other,” he instructed reporters.”I consider it’s a necessity to set the report straight – particularly out of respect for the victims and their households.”
